An EX2600-6BE hydraulic excavator is the latest Hitachi machine to join the existing fleet of Emeco’s giant mining diggers, which comprises a Hitachi EX1200-6, EX2600-6 and EX3600-6. The range of Hitachi EX Series hydraulic excavators have built a strong reputation in the mining industry as powerful, reliable and productive machines assisting operators in maximising production capabilities.

Weighing in at 250 tonnes and boasting a 17m3 bucket capacity, the EX2600-6BE features a front backhoe attachment for bulk excavation work, generating greater productivity and efficiency on the worksite.

The machine is now being utilised by Saracen Mineral Holdings Limited, a gold producer strategically situated in the North Eastern Kalgoorlie Goldfields of Western Australia. The EX2600-6BE is predominately undertaking the removal of overburden at the company’s Carosue Dam project located 120km north-east of Kalgoorlie.
